Afresh, New backbone, New ears, New eyes, New feet, New nose, New soul, New Year’s Resolutions, to be like Jesus
“The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective.” ~G K Chesterton

- To be like John, who leaned on the Master (John 13:23).
- To be like Stephen, who interceded for those who did not know Him (Acts 7:59, 60).
- To be like Paul, who “forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, pressed toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13, 14).
- To be like Timothy, who studied “to show himself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
- To be like Jesus, who did the will of the Father (John 4:34).
